‘UBA SEO is our space in downtown Nevada City where we feature gallery exhibits, retail, and workshop space. It is our desire to bring authentic Native American art and education to our community.
‘UBA SEO is another amazing step toward raising the visibility of the Nevada City Rancheria and our continued fight to have our Federal Recognition restored.

ERASED brings focus to anti-Indian legislation, negation of Tribal sovereignty and lasting impacts of forced assimilation that continue to affect the Nisenan. It is our hope this educational exhibit will have a lasting impression on people and engage them in a way that has not been done before.
Facing this history is not only vital in moving forward for all of us in this country, but absolutely should be the first step in all social justice, equity and inclusion conversations.
'UBA SEO Short Film
Cultures throughout the world have Water Spirits.
They live in Headwaters, Rivers, Oceans...
Water Spirits are Teachers, Singers, Warn humans of treacherous waters, pollution and more...they can also be sirens who lure you into the water's depths.
Momim Nishenan are the Water Nisenan who make the depths of 'Uba Seo their home.
Alluring visuals envelope the viewer while a haunting soundtrack sings the story of The Great Destruction, aka the gold rush. The single "momim ni" was composed and performed by Shelly Covert and is sung in the Nisenan language.
Screening through mid-September 2022
